The Department of Geography, Environment, and Spatial Sciences (GEO) may appoint Undergraduate Learning Assistants (ULA) in GEO and ISS classes for upcoming semesters. This is a great addition to your resumé, especially if you are planning to go to graduate school. If you are interested in one of these positions, and meet all minimum qualifications, then complete the application form below. Applications are considered on a rolling basis. Priority will be given to applications received by July 31 for a Fall semester hire, and November 30 for a Spring semester hire.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • You must be available the week before the semester starts to meet with the instructor of the class you have been chosen for.
  • You must be available during the scheduled class meeting times.
  • You completed the class with a numeric grade of 3.0 or above.
  • Your cumulative grade-point average is 3.0 or above.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  You have previous ULA experience.
  • You completed the class with a numeric grade of 3.5 or above.
  • Your cumulative grade-point average is 3.5 or above.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  •  Meet students for 10 hours per week in-person and/or online during times arranged with the Instructor.
  • Tasks may include tutoring, facilitating study sessions, holding office hours, proctoring exams, grading, teaching a laboratory section, or other duties as assigned by the Instructor.
  • You will be paid a minimum of $202.00 bi-weekly.
