Arts, Culture and Urban Sustainability in Rome Education Abroad Program

The principal objectives of this social science program in Rome, Italy are to introduce students to principles, patterns, and mechanisms of globalization, urbanization, socio-cultural and economic processes of change, and all explored through the lens of sustainability. The program focuses on current global dynamics in urban and economic development, geopolitics, global demographic patterns, social (in)equities and (in)equalities, and development disparities. Global environmental stresses, contemporary urban dynamics, and pressures of globalization and polarization are important foci of the program. The examination of urbanization and urban development processes in a globalizing world, and through the lens of sustainability, are central points of inquiry.
