The Master's Program in Geography is designed to enable the student to achieve professional competence in the discipline. This program is intended to increase substantive and technical proficiency and is offered as either research-based (with thesis) or course-based (without thesis).
Current requirements and admissions criteria can be found in the Academic Programs Catalog.
Thesis-based applicants are required to reach out to one or two faculty members whose research interests best align with their own. The faculty member must support your application through the admissions review and will serve as the student’s initial advisor if admitted to the program. It is helpful for course-based applicants to connect with a faculty member in their area of interest.
Applicants can review the faculty’s research areas by going to the Department Directory, sorting by Type of Staff = Faculty and their subdiscipline (Area of Study), then clicking on the faculty member’s image to see their research work.
