The Geography Graduate Group (Triple G) invites you to attend the second colloquium talk of the semester, by Dr. David H. Kaplan, entitled "Programs in Peril: How to Avert the Current Threats to Geography."

The talk is scheduled for Friday, March 15, at 4:00 PM, in Room 108 of the Kresge Art Center.

Dr. Kaplan is a Professor of Geography at Kent State University. He has written some 70 peer-reviewed articles and chapters and has also published 14 books. Dr. Kaplan is also the Past-President of the American Association of Geographers (2019-20), chair of the AAG’s Healthy Departments Committee, National Director of the Race, Ethnicity and Place Conferences, and is a Councilor for the American Geographical Society. In this talk, Dr. Kaplan will address the challenges faced by Geography departments and discuss ways to improve their institutional health. We believe Dr. Kaplan's insights are incredibly timely and critical and will likely facilitate significant discussions within and beyond our department.
