A recent article featured in Eos, the science news magazine published by the American Geophysical Union, is helping to shine a spotlight on important MSU projects currently underway as part of the Coastlines and People thematic area. The article written by Iris Crawford details how researchers such as Ethan Theuerkauf, Erin Bunting, and Liz Mack with the Department of Geography, Environment and Spatial Sciences and the Remote Sensing & GIS Research and Outreach Services at Michigan State University are using drones and crowdsourced data to help communities along the Great Lakes improve coastal monitoring and management in their efforts to deal with shoreline erosion.
