While most of the summer offerings this year are courses the Department has offered in the past, Big Ideas in Social Science (ISS 205) is an exciting new class making its online debut this upcoming semester. Authored by Nathan Moore, Juliegh Bookout, and Beth Weisenborn, Big Ideas in the Social Science explores whether our technosphere—the human-built world of cities, networks, and technologies—is pushing us to new heights or pushing the planet’s limits. Through a geographic lens, the course examines global issues like climate change, urban sustainability, migration patterns, and culture to better understand the connections shaping our world and its future.
onGEO undergraduate courses can be taken through the Lifelong Education program at Michigan State University and are eligible for continuing education clock-hour credits (with approval).
