Urban GeographyRESEARCH SYNOPSIS
I’m planning to conduct research on the younger generation's inner country migration and Hainan’s development. I would like to discover the inner migration between other cities to Hainan province. China has dedicated many resources to develop Hainan and wishes it to become a free-trade port that will at least be as successful as Hong Kong and maybe better in the future. Hainan provides different benefits, and zero requirements of HuKou transfer if you are a student who has earned a bachelor’s degree. Hainan is attracting many younger generations especially Generation Z and Millennials to settle in its city. I would like to evaluate and analyze how Hainan province will develop in the future by looking at inner migrant population sizes and property values from an urban geography perspective.
