Jen Fry

The MSU Department of Geography, Environment and Spatial Sciences congratulates Spartan Geographer and veteran volleyball coach Jen Fry on her recent spotlight by Sports Illustrated as one of 100 Influential Black Women in Sports. In addition to being a Ph.D. student in the Department focusing on sports geography, specifically the racial experiences of professional Black volleyball players in Europe, Fry is a social-justice educator and owner and CEO of her educational support and consulting firm, JenFryTalks.

In an article written by Bryna Jean-Marie, Fry was featured as part of Elle-evate: 100 Influential Black Women in Sports, a series initiated by Sports Illustrated and Empower Onyx that spotlights the diverse journeys of Black women across sports—from veteran athletes to up-and-coming stars, coaches, and executives, among others.
