The graduate program at the Department of Geography, Environment and Spatial Sciences is rich, vibrant, and diverse.
We are home to approximately 60 students at any given time, with a well-balanced mix of Masters and Ph.D. students. Student interests vary widely, including work in nature-society studies, physical geography, urban-economic geography, and geospatial technology. The cultural diversity of our graduate students is impressive, as many originate from faraway places such as China, Europe, Africa, Mexico, and Brazil. Many of our students also come from a variety of states in the U.S., including Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, New York, Texas, and Kansas, to name just a few.
