Dissertation Title:Fire regimes and ecological effects in seasonally dry tropical ecosystems in the Western Ghats, India
Since graduating from MSU, I have taken up several positions. Between January 2007 and August 2009 I was the GIS Coordinator/ Instructor at the Grays Harbor College in the Pacific NW. I taught several courses in GIS and Natural Resources Management to undergraduate students. Besides, I also managed a web mapping information system to improve Salmon conservation in the Pacific NW. Between October 2009 and May 2011 I took up a position at the French Institute of Pondicherry in India as a Researcher. Here, along with colleagues, I was involved in developing a proposal to create a large collaborative web portal to host all information related to biodiversity conservation in the Western Ghats. I continued my research on forest fires in the Western Ghats and was fortunate to have a publication in the International Journal of Wildland Fire. I am currently working as a Senior Scientist at the Asian Nature Conservation Foundation in Bangalore, India, mainly developing proposals to continue research on different aspects of environmental conservation in the Western Ghats.
