Josh received his BS in Geography in 2004 and had courses with many of the same professors who are still teaching at MSU today. While at MSU he also took many courses in the Urban Planning program, as well as earning the GIS Specialization Certificate. He was also a member of the wrestling team. During his time at MSU he also completed an internship with MDOT where he learned traffic modeling skills. He has since used his Spartan education and skills he learned at MDOT to leverage a career as a transportation consultant. This career took him to Miami for almost a decade where he worked as a transportation planner. In this time he has won numerous awards from the American Planning Association including the award of excellence for a transportation study. Recently Josh has moved back to Michigan and is now a senior associate and project manager for AECOM – a fortune 500 company in its Detroit area offices. In addition to his work, Josh was also appointed by Governor Rick Snyder to the Unarmed Combat Commission where he serves as vice-chair. He has also previously served as a board member for the Gold Coast section of the American Planning Association, a member of the Miami-Dade Technical Planning Committee, and the FAWA Board of Directors. In his spare time Josh is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys camping, hiking, biking, and fishing. He also coaches wrestling at the high school level.
