Research Synopsis:

My overall research interests include remote sensing, Earth systems modeling and GIS applications to nature-society interactions. Some of my previous research has sought to explore the intricacies of drought effects on societies with a focus on climate change adaptation and resilience among vulnerable populations especially in areas that food production systems are largely rain-dependent. My current research leverages remote sensing data and Community Land Model (a land surface model) to examine past and future carbon cycle changes in Michigan’s Kalamazoo River Watershed. The research seeks to provide insights on how natural processes and human actions affect the carbon cycle on the land.
