Fishbeck is seeking a GIS Technician intern to assist in the conversion and maintenance of water, sanitary and storm utility drawings, and field survey data for asset management projects. Technical duties will relate to collecting, developing, and maintaining accurate databases of utilities-specific data.
Specific responsibilities: Review and interpret engineering drawings to collect, document, and update utilities geospatially and attribute data in GIS. Provide assistance to other Civil Engineering and GIS staff members regarding maps and geographic data. Assure that data is maintained and follow standards to uphold quality control of data. Complete various forms, reports, GIS maps, or other documents as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
There is the potential for field work, including training other employees in the use of GPS equipment for data collection and field inspections.

Essential FunctionsProficient user of ESRI’s ArcGIS software suite.Desire to work with water and sewer utility asset management projects.Minimum Physical Requirements
Mobility to work in an office setting, use standard office equipment, visual acuity to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Desired Skills/Job ExperienceA solid understanding of ESRI ArcGIS software including ArcPro and ArcGIS Online web mapping applications.Must have the ability to communicate effectively, follow direction, and work independently.Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through. Experience utilizing Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel is required.           Must demonstrate a high degree of technical skills.
