Congratulations to Gabriela Shirkey who will pursue her doctoral degree with Dr. Jiquan Chen. Gabriela’s interests are in land management and its effects on the carbon cycle.
ESPP annually offers multiple doctoral recruiting fellowships for students who will matriculate in the next fall semester. The goal of these one-year fellowships is to attract the strongest possible cohort of students to pursue an interdisciplinary doctoral education focused on the environment. Fellowship recipients will pursue a Ph.D. in one of MSU’s many existing doctoral programs that have an environmental focus, and a Dual Major in Environmental Science and Policy.
The fellowship package includes full tuition for two semesters, health insurance and about $25,000 in living expenses. The departments match the funding for the next three years of the students’ studies.
