Update: We are very pleased to learn that GEO Economic Major Amber DeJohn has been selected as 1 of 20 2017 recipients of the prestigious Beinecke Scholarships!! Since 1975 there have been 610 undergraduates from over 110 institutions to have received this scholarship. Perusing the records we can see in that history only 3 MSU students have received it, one from Anthro in 2015, one from Psych in 2011, and now Amber in Economic Geography. This scholarship is unusual for it is given to juniors and takes them through graduate school. Bruce Pigozzi states “I am quite proud to have been involved with this student and contend that our brand new Economic Geography undergraduate major is off to a rousing start!”
