This new and innovative program is designed to help faculty and students rise to the challenge of understanding our globalizing world, with its many impacts on environment and society.

The program offers a multi-disciplinary curriculum with courses that can count towards many different majors.

Scholarships now available for advanced undergraduate students to participate in the 2012 joint U.S. and Brazil global education program.

Globalization: Socio-Economic, Political, and Environmental Interdependence, is a one year program that entails six integrated components, bringing together foreign language training, research opportunities, and a multidisciplinary curriculum co-taught by faculty from across the partners.

The scholarship provides a generous stipend for Portuguese language training in Spring 2012 at MSU, and foreign travel from June 20 to August 19th to Salvador da Bahia, the historic seat of colonial Brazil - nicknamed the Capital da Alegria (happiness), and Belém do Pará, the metropolis at the mouth of the Amazon.
