Graduate Information

The graduate program at the Department of Geography is rich, vibrant, and extremely diverse.   We are home to about 60 students at any given point in time, with a generally equal number of Master’s and Ph.D. students.  Their interests vary widely, including work  in nature-society studies, physical geography, urban-economic geography,  and geospatial technology.  The cultural diversity of our graduate students is amazing, as many originate from far away places such as China, Europe, Africa, Mexico, and Brazil.  Many of our students also come from a variety of states in the U.S., including Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, New York, Texas, and Kansas, to name a few.
